as an artist, i'm always searching for new things to inspire me. one group that never fails is coldplay. so completely innovative with every little thing they do. this is THE coolest music video i have ever seen. take a few minutes to watch it ... i'll think you'll find a new appreciation for them as well. and if you've never seen them live, you're missing out!

on another note, i am doing some traveling over the next week or so. i am in las vegas for the next couple of days and will then be heading to sunny los angeles. i am searching for a couple of dogs to model for me for a project in both locations. email me if you are interested!

when i returned from phoenix last week, benny was a bit on the messy side, so brian and i took him in for his first indoor bath. we went to lucky pup because i absolutely love that place. kristin is super friendly and always has new, fun toys and treats for furry kids. lucky pup also offers self-bathing and drop-off services. we decided to do it ourselves. let's just say that benny was happier when it was over (NOT a fan of water), but he sure looked handsome when we were finished! here's a photo from mid-wash. his pitiful face makes me laugh!



after his bath, kristin wanted benny to try on the doggie rain gear. ooh, i love it! she also featured him on her blog!





tomorrow is lucky pup's 1st birthday! come out for the celebration - cupcakes and cocktails, doggie birthday cakes, goodie bags and more. i'd love to see some of my doggie clients there! :)

okay, okay so maybe i should stick to my day job :) we have gotten more settled and my office is up and running. so, that means there will be a new blog post every day this week to make up for the slacker of a job i have been doing. i've had a few people ask how benny is adjusting. here's a little visual to let you know:



he loves his new place. it took him a bit to get used to living here, but he is crazy about the back yard. he gets to terrorize squirrels and chipmunks all day long. i think he enjoys chasing them more than lazying around the sofa in my office.

i met rudy last month at an energetic 4.5 months old. can i just say that i heart puppies? the puppy breath, the energy, the eyes ... everything. i love them. i had the best time with him and his mom. i don't know who was more tired by the end ... rudy, his mom or me? :) enjoy the peek from his session!

friday marked the anniversary of benny's adoption. since benny isn't spoiled or anything, i knew i needed to pick him up a few things in celebration! ;)

when brian and i adopted benny, we didn't realize how much our lives would be enriched because of it. he's my son, co-worker, carpooler and best friend all rolled into one! thanks for letting me share his life here.

last night i was working late and ended up falling asleep on the sofa in my office. when i woke up this morning, benny was laying on me in a sweet, curled up position. i wish i had my camera in my hand when i first awoke, but no such luck. i have no idea how long he was there, but he was out! and i felt ... perfect. i love this sweet boy. so this evening, brian was taking a quick nap before dinner and when i went to wake him, this is what i saw. fortunately, i did have time to grab my camera for these.

two days before we left for the beach, benny cut his leg. we were worried that he would have to have stitches, but the vet sent us away with antibiotics, bandages and gauze. here he is sporting his blue bandage.

i met up with woody and ruthie on a hottttt summer day! we hit downtown, stopped for ice cream to cool off and then ventured to a park to wrap up the session. such sweet brother and sister pups. you can't resist those big, brown eyes of saint bernard's. this is my favorite of them together.

i am quite the lucky girl. i work in a field where creativity and artistry continually flow and evolve and there is always a new challenge to meet. i'm even luckier because i'm able to combine that with kiddos and dogs... my two favorites in this world. you can imagine how happy i am when i get to have both at the same time! here's dillard … a bright, spunky 2.5 year old. love his gorgeous locks!
