shoot with beckstead

last week, david beckstead flew into nashville to lead in his amazing workshop shoot with beckstead. it was such a great couple of days! we had a full day of shooting and then a day of critique. i so enjoyed being around other photographers and getting to know the local ones better. it was almost like having co-workers again, and i miss it now that it's over. sean and melanie mclellan did a wonderful job of hosting it and i loved getting to know mary claire crow, kate crafton and cliff batson better. everyone turned out such great work. it was inspiring to be surrounded by such talent. here are a few (err... ton) of my favorites :) grab a cup of hot cocoa and enjoy!

west family

yesterday i went over to the west home for some family photos. i hadn't seem them since the end of last year and you can imagine my reaction once i saw how much lulu had grown! she kept me on my toes the entire session. she was all over the place! her parents are crazy about her and i hope that shows through their images. i also got to see earl again. she greeted me with uber amounts of wet kisses. i absolutely love my job.

big yawn!

also, matthew is a singer/songwriter. you can check out his music by clicking here.

elizabeth, lilly and harrison

you may recognize these cuties from a shoot i did with them at the beginning of summer. they had me back out last week and wow how harrison has grown! he's not a baby anymore and is getting around so well. elizabeth is so fun to watch because she is definitely a little mother hen... but great at that! lilly is at the age where she doesn't really like to be photographed, but i loved watching her be like her big sister and then do things her completely own way. she has a great independent mind. at the end of the session i got some alone time with lilly and was able to grab a few of her. here are some favorites!

a little model, wouldn't you say?

look at those teeth!

when was the last time you laid down on the grass and enjoyed some belly-hurtin' laughter? :)

knick family

on wednesday i met the knick family at the hermitage. again, it was a beautiful afternoon and we found some fun spots. kadence is seven months old and about as cute as they come! she is one loved little girl. i had such a fun time with you guys! thanks for choosing me to capture this time in your lives.

i love this moment!

harrison ellis - 9 days old

when i met this little one he was only 9 days old. it was such a great time to photograph him because he was still so fresh to the world and such a sleepy little peanut. newborn sessions are a lot of fun because i get to hold little miracles, but i also love meeting the new parents. they are just so in love with this life they brought into the world and would do anything for him... even if they are sleep deprived. thanks to harrison's mommy and daddy for having me out. i know they've been excited to see these!

i loved his little hands

mallory

i met mallory's family in ohio for her senior session. we should have known that when my first flight was canceled, things wouldn't really go our way. when i got there it had been raining for a couple of days and continued to rain the rest of the day. not the ideal situation for a location photographer, but we pushed through it and were able to get some great imagery! the fall foliage there was simply gorgeous. i can't wait for it to get here! mallory did so well and never complained once about the dreary day. also, she just started at a new school in a new state for her last year of school and has a great attitude about all of it. she's one cool chic and i really enjoyed my time with her and her mom. thanks so much for having me out!

the waterfall at a mill we shot at.

sterling and clark

i met up with sterling and clark at their neighborhood park. it was a gorgeous afternoon and i had such a fun time capturing them. sterling is 8 and has such a bright personality bubbling with creativity. i spent the majority of my time with her and she entertained me with story after story. clark joined us at the end of the session and fell right into character with his older sister. i promised sterling that she would get to see a couple of her photos on the computer, so here we are!
